Matthew 7:13-14

Matthew 7:13: “Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.”

Many people today have this idea that everyone is going to go to Heaven, no matter what kind of life they lead or what they’ve done. They think that God would never send anyone to Hell. What we find in the Bible, though, is that many people are on the road to Hell. Jesus warned people time and time again to repent and be saved – to flee from the wrath to come. He warned people that few (as verse 14 says) would find salvation. Many would be lost.

Today people reject this idea; they don’t want to hear it. They’re not interested in being told that they have to do things God’s way. They want an easy salvation that doesn’t involve any repentance or submission to God. But that road does not lead to salvation – it leads to destruction. There is only one way to be saved, and it is through Jesus. He is the strait gate and narrow way. All other roads lead to Hell.
