Matthew 16:15-17

Matthew 16:15: “He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.”

This is an important point. No one can realize who Jesus is apart from the direct revelation of God. Those who accept Jesus for who He is – the Messiah, the Savior, the Son of God, part of the Trinity, the eternal one that is without beginning or without end – do so because God has blessed them and opened their eyes. God the Father is the one that reveals this, and it cannot be known apart from His revelation.
