Matthew 8:26

Matthew 8:26: “And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.”

The disciples were astonished at Christ’s ability to calm the storm with a simple command, and rightly so. Being able to change the weather simply by giving it orders is a clear sign of divinity. No mere man could ever do a thing like that!

Of course, healing people also required divine power, but the disciples seemed to gloss over that. It took this singular act to remind them of what should have been obvious by now: that Jesus was no ordinary man. What we’re seeing here is a man of great power – a man of divine power, to be precise.
