Revelation 22:14-15

Revelation 22:14: “Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.”

And what is His commandment? As we saw earlier, it is to believe on His name. Those who are saved will have the privilege of eating from the tree of life (which is a real tree, and bears real fruit) and will be able to enter into the New Jerusalem. But those who rejected Jesus and refused to repent and make Him their Lord, will never enter the city:

Revelation 22:15: “For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.”

God commands people to repent of their sins and seek forgiveness. Forgiveness can cover many sins – but those who refuse God’s forgiveness will face His wrath.
