Hebrews 10:34

Hebrews 10:34: “For ye had compassion of me in my bonds, and took joyfully the spoiling of your goods, knowing in yourselves that ye have in heaven a better and an enduring substance.”

Do we really believe that we have “in heaven a better and an enduring substance”? Many people today have no desire whatsoever to go to Heaven; they vastly prefer their lives here. They see Heaven as a drab, boring place with nothing to do. This is a far cry from the picture of Heaven that the Bible paints! Heaven is consistently depicted as being a much better place, which is something I have discussed extensively elsewhere. The desire for Home should be on all of our hearts. Here we are but strangers and pilgrims. This world is not our home. As Paul said,

35 Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward.

What we need is patience. The Lord will return, exactly as He promised:

37 For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry.
