Hebrews 10:22

Hebrews 10:22: “Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.”

“full assurance” – I like that! We know that we are saved; we are assured of it. Now, the Catholic Church strongly disagrees with this. They teach that believing that you are saved is a sin. In fact, not only is it a sin, but it is a mortal sin, and you can get sent to Hell for it. That is what they believe – and they are wrong.

Believing that you are saved is not a sin; it is simply believing the promises that God has given to us. God wants us to know that we are saved! The reason we can know for sure is because Christ’s sacrifice was sufficient – He “paid it all”. Nothing more needs to be done to make sure that we reach Heaven. When we “believe in the Lord Jesus Christ” then we are saved, and that is the end of the story. We have full assurance. “If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in thine heart that God raised Him from the dead, then thou shalt be saved.” It is as simple as that.
